The Digital Sakshar program, implemented in marginalized communities, helps the youth learn IT skills to enhance employability. Computer centers impart training in WORD, EXCEL, TALLY, and the computer hardware to the youth acts as a hub for digital transformation. Convenient batch timings and hands-on training, have helped the youth grab better job opportunities.
We supported the setting-up of BPO centers in the villages of Sonari, Uttar Pradesh; Budhni, Madhya Pradesh; and Thalla Ramgarh in Uttarakhand, where 550 rural youth are employed. Through this project, the rural youth has been specially trained in IT skills and digitalization of books.
Computer centers set up in the marginalized communities help the youth learn basic computer skills and enhance employability. Our 1 step volunteers conduct training sessions on soft skills, interview skills, resume writing, communication, and spoken English, at the computer centers on weekends. Over the years, we have also introduced courses in computer hardware and TALLY, which have a high industry demand. The computer courses are supplemented with spoken English classes, to help improve employability among these youngsters.
