Change Managers in organizations are likely to come across several teams and individuals following different practices and working on various objectives of change. Moreover, in a continuosly changing business world, most employees typically resist change. The Change Manager’s responsibility, then, is to ensure a smooth transition and acceptance of change by minimizing resistance, and by building a feedback mechanism which will allow them to address specific employee concerns.
Now, Change Managers can either do their job the traditional way by using PROSCI or MS Office tools, or leverage emerging technology to make a wider impact in less time and to truly involve employees in the change management process for wider acceptance. The key is to boost the desire quotient among employees and facilitate acceptance via a mix of interpersonal skills and formal and informal tools for communication and automation.
To make the Change Manager’s job easier, there are several tools available today. In this blog I have listed some of the key business tools that help simplify their role.
Slido is an audience interaction tool for meetings, events and conferences. It offers interactive Q&A, live polls and insights about your audience, while engaging them with live polls. Slido can be easily used in closed group meetings such as leadership meetings, board room sessions, division unit meetings, etc.
SurveyMonkey offers a free online survey tool to capture the opinions of employees, or other target audiences. Surveys can be conducted via email as well as a website, and can also be conducted live during a meeting.
Walk Me is an authoring tool used to automate user onboarding and staff training with interactive guides that don’t require any coding to build. It has several features for end users as well as guide builders.
WhatFix allows the organization to deliver a personalized user onboarding experience and accelerate adoption of enterprise applications by creating interactive walkthroughs.
Mailchimp is a multi-faceted tool that helps sales teams automate prospect and lead management. Marketing and Sales personnel can predict demographics, manage audience segments, test campaigns, send emails at specific times, and of course design and deploy their own email marketing campaigns.
Articulate 360 simplifies the course authoring process, allowing Change Managers to create custom and interactive learning material for employees.
Adobe Captivate is another authoring tool used for creating e-learning content such as software demonstrations, software simulations, branched scenarios etc., in small web formats and HTML5 formats.
Enalyzer is a survey and polling software that change managers can use to build surveys quickly and solicit employee feedback.
Which tool you pick eventually depends on your requirements, budget, and size of target audience (or the organization). Use these tools to reduce the risk of tempered information, spreads required awareness and helps builds knowledge. So get creative and make a lasting impact!
