Nynas has four refineries, two in Sweden and two in the United Kingdom. Challenges |
- Build a robust enterprise applications integration architecture to provide seamless data flow between various process control and automation systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and existing Oracle Hyperion solutions
- Synchronize manufacturing automation and truck loading systems to the ERP solution to support increasing demand for integrated, accurate, and timely supply chain data
- Improve visibility into refinery-finished products and crude inventory outside the refinery division through a shared system
- Control tracking the refinery products’ daily operational losses and gains to reduce product loss
- Give sales personnel ability to update product availability for improved demand-supply cycle and planning

Solution |
- Created an automated inventory management solution by integrating Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE) modules with complex refinery automation systems, freeing up resources for priority initiatives and reducing inventory costs
- Implemented JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Bulk Stock Management, which supports the majority of oil and gas industry features (like bulk-product handling, storage, and deliveries, as well as tank and throughput reconciliation) to streamline the supply chain by properly tracking all product movements
- Developed customized reports in JDE to cater the company’s reporting requirements that include daily and monthly mass balance, and loss-and-gain reporting
- Provided updated product information to sales personnel through the provision of online available-to-promise quantities
- Worked with Oracle partner L&T Infotech Sweden to complete the implementation in a timely manner
